Under 26?

CAMRA is extremely proud of its hugely diverse membership. More than 81 000 individuals of all ages, backgrounds and both sexes enjoy their CAMRA membership. With over 6% of the total national membership being aged between 18 - 30 years old, it was felt that a section of this website should be dedicated to show the activities of this thriving group of Young CAMRA Members.

CAMRA set up a Young Members Group (YMG) in 2000 to promote and encourage the drinking of Real Ale among young people (the 18 - 30 age group) by encouraging Young Members and young non-members to join in with the numerous social activities that are organised nationwide, as well as encouraging and supporting Young Members who want to get more involved with CAMRA locally, regionally and nationally.

Redditch and Bromsgrove Young CAMRA Members

Welcome to the Young CAMRA members page! It’s here we show you that Real Ale is enjoyed by people from all sorts of backgrounds. You don’t have to be a member to enjoy a good pint; all you need is a thirst for a good pub atmosphere. Young member events happen all over the country, and include regular meetings as well as working socials at beer festivals and pub crawls.

One of the things that we do best are social pub crawls! Organized by Wolverhampton Young CAMRA group, the idea of this crawl was to travel the most ‘beer miles’ by choosing two breweries from the selection at each pub on the crawl. Starting at the Great Western in Wolverhampton, we visited The Olde White Rose in Bilston, The Wellington in Birmingham, The William Shenstone in Tipton, The Wagon and Horses in Tipton and The Windsor Castle Brewery in Lye, Stourbridge.

Join Us!

CAMRA offer a £10 membership for those under 26, that’s £8 off the current membership price. By joining you get free or reduced entry to beer festivals across the UK, a monthly subscription to What’s Brewing; CAMRA’s newspaper which gives details of events happening in your area and beer festivals across the country, and opportunities to work at events like The Great British Beer Festival.

For details of the next young member social or for more information on CAMRA, please e-mail Paul Richards, Young Member Contact for Redditch and Bromsgrove Branch: ym @ rbcamra.org.uk
